Der Liebesarzt was a musical comedy built around Harry Liedtke. A contemporary Film-Kurier review of February 5th 1931 described the film as a successful vehicle for Liedtke and praised the ensemble and the comic dialogue.
The same contemporary review explicitly names Max Ehrlich among the actors in smaller roles, together with Rudolf Lettinger, Siegfried Berisch, Charles Willy Kaiser, Ernst Pittschau and director Erich Schönfelder. Filmportal's present database lists only Harry Liedtke and Eugen Rex in its abbreviated cast, so Max's exact character name remains unidentified.
The film passed censorship on January 21st 1931 and premiered on February 4th 1931.
